Solar Panels are Closer to God

You wouldn't blame anyone for saying so, but just recently, the first of 2,400 solar panels were installed at the Vatican.  it is thought that with this major push into the solar era, the Vatican could be the first carbon-neutral state in all of Europe and in the world.

Speaking of pollution,  according to Cardinal Deacon Renato Raffaele Martino, "It's a big insult to God."

Word, Martino, word.

Silicon Shortage Stops Solar Panel Production

Meanwhile, solar panel providers across the country have been dealing with a shortage of silicon and the resultant shortage of panels has left some customers in the dark, solar power wise.

Thin film technologies have eased that slightly and it looks as though there will be more than enough supply to meet demand by 2010 according to industry analysts.

Solar Power use is Booming among the Amish!

Solar Power use is Booming among the Amish!

That's news to me.  But it seems that the Amish, at least one sect in LAncaster, PA, have no problem with solar energy as long as it is not installed in the home or used for materialist purposes (no iPhone for the Amish, apparently).

They, like the rest of use are dependent upon power grids and imported fuel and have begun installing solar panels at their places of work.

Contrary to what many may think, the Amish do use diesel generators and electricity as long as they are for work.  Those buggy lanterns don't recharge themselves, you know.
